Unlike Massachusetts, Maryland has religious tolerance and everyone wasn’t forced to be Puritan. Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, etc. were allowed and tolerated in Maryland, but they weren’t in Massachusetts.
Vs. North Carolina
Unlike North Carolina, Maryland’s economy wasn’t limited to only cash crops. It relied on many things like ironworks, corn, wheat, rice, tobacco, fishing, etc. Maryland profited off of many other things, other than just indigo, rice, tobacco.
Vs. New Hampshire
Unlike New Hampshire, Maryland wasn’t founded for an economy or a source of profit. Maryland was founded for Catholics and religious tolerance, while New Hampshire was founded for farming and fishing.
Vs. Pennsylvania
Unlike Pennsylvania, Maryland was founded for Roman Catholics and Religious Tolerance. Pennsylvania was founded for the Quakers and Religious Freedom, while Maryland was founded for the Roman Catholics and for Religious Tolerance.
Vs. Connecticut
Unlike Connecticut, Maryland had very good weather/climate. The geography and weather of Maryland was very good for growing crops, while the New England colonies(including Connecticut) were very cold and didn’t have the right soil to farm properly.
